Should I Buy a Car or Braces?

Drea asked:

okay at the beginning of February, I’m getting a check worth about 2,000. and my mom said if i was going to get a car she would chip in a 1,000. so that is 3,000, but a local car dealership sales used cars to college students and takes 1,000 off the price. so for 3,000 i can get a 4,000 car. the car would be awesome because this city doesn’t have buses/trolleys or any way to travel.
or i can get braces. i wanted something for my upper row because it has spacing. braces would be wonderful because if i had great teeth then i’d definitely be a 10. i am so low-confidence about my teeth.

i want both equally, because if i get a car i can get a much better job. if i get a better job then i can eventually get braces.
if i get braces i will have much better confidence. i have a low confidence.

Should I bring a car to New Orleans?

Julia S asked:

My friend and I are planning a trip to NOLA in early August. the price of parking down there is just outrageous! We were considering just flying there. Do you suggest bringing a car? Is everything in walking distance? I know there are trolleys downtown…what are the prices for riding? Thanks!!
Here is some additional info that may haelp…I am from Nashville, TN and We will be staying a week at Roayl Sonesta, which is on Bourbon Street. My Aunt actually lives in Metairie, but my friend and I did not want to have to depend on her for driving everywhere. We really do want to take some plantation tours, but beyond that, we really just wanted to chill on the Quarter and other “tourist traps.” Thanks Again Everyone!!

Teams move and keep the same nickname though it makes no sense?

JWH67 asked:

Why do some teams, when they move, retain the same nickname despite how ridiculous it sounds in the context of their new home?

Some examples:

The Atlanta Flames were named for the burning flames during Sherman’s March in the Civil War. Yeah, that nickname really is fitting in Calgary.

The New Orleans Jazz was a great name because New Orleans is the home of jazz. Jazz must also be big in Salt Lake City, right?

The Minneapolis Lakers were born in the land of 1,000 lakes. Umm, plenty of lakes in Los Angeles too, right?

The Brooklyn Dodgers were named because fans had to dodge the trolley cars in Brooklyn on the way to Ebbits Field. Have you counted how many trolleys there are in Chavez Ravine?

At least some teams did the smart thing when they moved. I think the Colorado Nordiques and the Carolina Whalers would sound pretty dumb, though the Phoenix Jets would fit okay. And the Washington baseball team is far better as the Nationals than “Les Expos”.

Agreed?

San Francisco - Bart/Muni/Cable Car?

Kick IT asked:

I will be visiting S.F. soon and will be staying at a hotel right outside the SFO airport. We will be traveling in and out of S.F. to do all of the tourist stuff. A BART station is near our hotel and we can travel into SF that way. But we will eventually need to transfer to either a Cable-trolley car or Muni Bus. Will we need to buy seperate passes or is there a particular pass that covers all the transportation?
